Shankar Krishnamurthy

I’m a senior at Stevenson High in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. I build software for the people around me: an iOS app for my school, websites for two student-run nonprofits, and AI tools I use every week.

* Follows Stevenson’s standard 2026–27 bell schedule only. It doesn’t know about holidays, breaks, Late Arrival or other special schedules.

Stevenson Space

Stevenson’s bell schedule changes more often than you’d think: Late Arrival, finals, assemblies, e-learning days. Stevenson Space answers one question at a glance: what period is it, how long until it changes, and what’s next.

I build it in Swift and SwiftUI. The schedule logic lives in two pure functions that the app, its widgets and its notifications all share, so every screen agrees. All the date math runs in Chicago time, so daylight saving can’t move a bell.

  • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets that count down to the next bell without opening the app.
  • The lunch menu, assembled from the six station files the school’s site publishes separately.
  • A student ID rebuilt from one screenshot: the app reads the Code 39 barcode and draws it again on the phone. The screenshot itself is never stored.

More things I’ve built

  1. Bridge AIDE

A student-led group that teaches how AI is built and whether it’s fair. As Director of Technology I rebuilt bridgeaide.org, moving it off Wix to Astro, and drew every page as an engineering sheet with a Blueprint and a Whiteprint theme.

  2. Rejuvenate Ganga

A registered Illinois nonprofit working to clean up the River Ganga. As its technology lead I co-built the platform with Rohan Jain: portals for donors, volunteers and partner groups, and an admin panel that verifies donations in dollars and rupees.

  3. MindPath

A wellness app built at HSHacks 2026 with three other people. It adapts daily activities to how you feel, draws each person an emotional fingerprint, and mixes ambient soundscapes from eight generated layers.

    Built with
    React, Supabase, Gemini API

  4. AI YouTube Trends Finder

Type a niche, and an n8n workflow pulls the last two days of YouTube videos while GPT-4.1 mini explains what’s working across the whole niche, not just one video. It’s my most-starred repo.

Outside the editor

I started with small browser games: a Rubik’s Cube, Hangman, a fishing game. Now I mostly build for groups I belong to: my school, a student AI ethics group, a river nonprofit.

I like the part after launch, when people start using the thing and tell you what’s wrong with it. After school I teach kids to code at Code Ninjas.
